I have been awarded a City & Guilds Commitment to Learning Award in recognition of my professional development in attaining the  National Vocational Qualification Early Years Care and Education Level 3 in February 2006. The units within this qualification include:

•  I provide care and education for other people’s children in a family setting.
•  Children are cared for in their own community, enabling them to build and develop their own local connections.
•  Brothers and sisters of different age ranges can be catered for in the same setting.
•  I provide homework support.
•  I have flexible hours available to respond to children’s changing needs as they grow and develop.
•  A stimulating environment within a home based setting is provided which recognizes children’s needs.
•  I treat every child as an individual and equal opportunities are offered to all children.
